How can we make every day as Earth day

Hello,

Today’s google’s doodle pictures for Earthday hit me very hard, so whenever I use jute bags instead of polythene or make any choice that avoids one-time use of plastic I used to think I have made a favor to the environment, not only me many of us think that way. But are we really doing it for the environment?

The answer is No, we knowingly or unknowingly, due to social media influence or for the love of our planet we adapting to sustainability and going green is inturn to save us from the drastic climate change.

So let bygones be bygone, the point to focus on now is how can we all can make each step toward restoring the earth that was destroyed by human greed and selfishness for centuries.

The factors that led to this worst climate change and destruction of natural resources:

  • Deforestation
  • Illegal expansion on lakes and riverbeds
  • Vehicular and industrial smoke emission
  • Excessive plastic dumps
  • Water pollution by industries by toxic dumping
  • Excessive wastage of resources (water and food)
  • No proper knowledge of sustainability and proper resource usage
  • Fast fashion

Even if we are exploring options for life on other planets, are we sure we can compete with the elite list or we can make it there before it’s too late for us?

Instead of thrashing and throwing away our generation should learn to preserve, restore and make better of what we have than be lost in imagining a fake paradise.

So how can we make our Earth better and great again?

It all takes small changes and habituating a minimalistic and sustainable lifestyle.

“A big change is the result of hundreds of tiny steps and they all count”

The small steps can be:

  • Avoiding One-time use of plastic
  • Switching from plastic to more sustainable metals like brass/copper/steel/glass
  • Taking public transport and going on foot/ bicycle is both good for pocket and health (with increasing petrol price)
  • Planting trees or even planting plants that purify the air in every household.
  • Building and recreating parks than Malls and Entertainment centers
  • Prevention of illegal mines, land expansions, and destruction of natural resources
  • Lesser usage of Electricity and water
  • Never waste food (in worst cases you can always donate or feed strays than let it rot)
  • Always reuse/recycle or donate your clothes and never give in to fast fashion as all other clothes will end up in landfill
  • Eat more vegetables than animal products

It’s never late to take action toward a great cause. There are plenty of resources to learn and implement on the internet.
